With December’s colder weather and spirited festivities comes a plethora of holiday soirées. We all want to feel and look our best as we reunite with friends and family to celebrate the most wonderful time of year. So we’ve rounded up three looks for each of these three upcoming local events to give you some style inspiration as you prepare for the busy holiday season.
This edition of What to Wear features the magnificent Samford Arts Wright Center as a dazzling backdrop for our two fantastic models, Kelly Prather and Hannah Strauch, premier dancers in the Alabama Ballet. Kelly has been dancing since age 14 and has danced for prestigious ensembles such as the Atlanta Ballet’s Fellowship Ensemble. She has performed principal roles with the Alabama Ballet in both Donald Mahler’s Cinderella and Bruce Wells’ Snow White. Hannah spent summers training with Central Pennsylvania Youth Ballet, Boston Ballet, Washington Ballet and more before joining the Cincinnati Ballet as a trainee, then spending two years of apprenticeship with Alabama Ballet. She is now a fabulous addition to the company and both dancers will perform in George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker at the Samford Arts Wright Center. Hannah and Kelly show off their talent en pointe while showcasing our December styles!
Today’s looks come from the stylish minds at Gus Mayer for George Balanchine’s The Nutcracker, Fabrik in Homewood, which provides suggestions for The Blind Boys of Alabama Christmas Performance at the Lyric Theatre and Alabama Outdoors for the upcoming Woodlawn Street Market.
