Lastly, support the Women’s Fund of Greater Birmingham in their mission to move women beyond poverty with their unique and innovative annual fundraiser, Smart Party 5.0! Held at Iron City, this event celebrates 10 of Birmingham’s smartest women and, with its high-tech social media flair, it is sure to be an unforgettable cocktail party! Get out in the glorious fall weather and watch as Birmingham’s favorite culinary masters and fledgling food stars battle it out for top catfish-cooking prizes at the Cahaba River Fry-Down, which takes place at Railroad Park. Best of all? The fry-down allows the Cahaba River Society to continue its work to restore and protect the Cahaba, Alabama’s longest remaining free-flowing river! The fry-down is also serving up tasty treats and local brews with a heaping side of live music, educational games, petting zoos, beer gardens and more. Bring the whole family or a gaggle of your girlfriends and savor Birmingham’s culinary scene for a great cause!
