SB Note: This week is spring break for many in Birmingham. If you’re in town enjoying a staycation but have a hankering for some resort-type fun that doesn’t require a long road trip, you’re in luck —read on! We’re reposting this article on Ross Bridge just for you!
Unable to find last minute availability at our preferred beach spot for a family vacation recently, I decided that a staycation at Ross Bridge was in order. If you haven’t been to this AAA ranked 4 diamond Marriott property in Hoover, you are in for a treat. Only minutes outside of the city (no chance of hearing “are we there yet?”), the resort is surrounded by lush greenery, woodlands, fairways and lakes and offers a laid-back, easygoing, yet polished environment. And the manicured landscaping is as impeccable as the staff’s friendliness.
We ate dinner at the kid friendly Clubhouse, but if you’re looking to step it up, Brock’s offers a Mediterranean-based fine dining experience.
While there, I happened to spy a couple of local celebs – the adorably fit-tastic girls who brought us Pure Barre, Danielle and Lindsay, soaking in some summer and reminding me every step of the way back to their poolside lounge chairs that lift, tone, and burn really does work. (Didn’t get a photo, as I thought it best to leave the paparazzi blitz to TMZ.)
Ross Bridge Golf Resort and Spa is the perfect local spot for a family jaunt, romantic rendezvous or a girl’s getaway, offering a top notch facility with a RTJ golf course, full service spa, casual and fine dining, workout facility and a happenin’ pool zone. If you haven’t experienced this one-of-a-kind destination that’s practically right in our own backyard, I say it’s high time you head over to Ross Bridge!
