We always enjoy discovering new Southern retailers and sharing them with you. Along with new-to-us discoveries, we have some long-time favorites that we realized we have not shared in the past. Here are 10 fabulous independently owned Southern businesses (in alphabetical order) that specialize in everything from home decor to reclaimed finds. Whether you’re in one of these Southern cities or you want to browse from the comfort of home, bookmark these recommendations so you can support local whether in-person or online.

Candle lovers won’t want to miss out on Candlefish in Charleston. While the brand is carried in major retailers across the nation (you may have spotted Candlefish products at Anthropologie, for example), there’s nothing like the original in-store experience, where you can explore and enjoy the fragrance library of 100 scents. Feeling crafty? The retailer also offers candle-making workshops, which are the perfect girls’ trip activity — what could be better than creating some fun souvenirs to bring home? Not in Charleston? There’s a Candlefish location in Atlanta, too!

A family-owned company, The CEH offers stunning vintage furniture pieces out of its Dallas storefront. It has grown rapidly since its launch in 2013 and is now a blogger and shelter magazine favorite. Needlepoint is a favorite hobby among millennials and older generations alike, and Palm Beach’s Lycette Designs is a one-stop-shop for everything you could ever need to get your stitch on.
