Meet Leslie Pitman, owner of Laura Kathryn Boutique in Mountain Brook’s Crestline Village. This is a gal who understands fashion and style, knows what she likes and goes for it with confidence. She’s mesmerizing and captivating, beautiful on the inside and out, and definitely not afraid to look life directly in the eye.

Leslie always looks beautiful, and especially so in this Myne dress.

Leslie purchased Laura Kathryn after two years of working as a manager and an assistant buyer for the previous namesake owners in 2008. The shop carries contemporary brands such as Rebecca Taylor, Joie, Velvet, Ella Moss, Bella Dahl, Waverly, Grey, Tibi, Gypsy 05, and Alice & Olivia.

Clothing hangs in neat rows around the perimeter of the store…

…and is arranged by hue throughout.

The space is light and inviting.

A large, comfortable bench to make trying on lovely shoes easy

Bags and belts to complete your ensemble

They also carry a curated selection of shoes by such brands as Cordani, Sixty-seven, Corso Como and Joie. Leslie carefully weighs her decision on which styles and colors to carry from her selected lines, striking a balance between what she loves, what she thinks her clientele will love and what she thinks will sell.

Leslie meeting with the Corso Como shoe rep to discuss spring shoe trends and select which styles to carry in the store.

The jewelry selection offered is unique and different, with pieces to complement a modern wardrobe. Some brands carried at the store are MADE, Diana Warner, Mima, Calleen Cordero and Intiq.

I adore these metal accented suede cuffs for $185…

…and this one by MADE, a local jeweler for $165.

Store manager and style maven, Lizzie Sherrill, is totally frockin’ in this silk joie dress and mtng booties!

Leslie also provides wardrobe consultation, closet purging, trip packing assistance and help with fashion goals (ranging from what is needed to complete a wardrobe to what to wear to an upcoming social event.) She charges $70 an hour for consulting services.

When not scouring the markets of New York, which she does biannually in September and February, or perusing the Atlanta markets as she does four to five times a year, Leslie likes to hit the pilates reformer, cycle, travel and hang at the beach.

While chatting with Leslie here are a few of things I discovered:

Favorite lunch spot: Pinches in Homewood for their quesadilla, which she says is hands down the best in town.

Favorite dinner restaurant: It’s a toss up between Ocean, Dram, Vino and Chez Fon Fon.

Favorite Cocktail: vodka with fresh grapefruit juice and a lime.

She’s currently reading The Happiness Project.

A fun and passionate lady

Stop by the upcoming Open House Party at Laura Kathryn on October 4th (check the LK facebook page for more details to be posted soon) where there will be wine and discounts! And speaking of parties, Leslie also encourages people to use the store after hours for private parties at no charge.

Hope you enjoyed getting to know Leslie as much as I have!
