Doesn’t every bride-to-be want to be treated like a princess? The folks at Ivory & White think so! They believe that every bride deserves to be pampered with unparalleled one-on-one attention and service as she envisions herself walking down the aisle toward her future spouse — in the gown of her dreams.
Dresses of intricate lace, luxurious silk and every fabric in between line the walls of Ivory & White, an elegant and inviting boutique tucked among the shops on Church Street in Crestline Village. Shopping for a wedding dress can be an overwhelming undertaking, but all of that stress falls away the moment you walk through Ivory & White’s doors. Brides and their guests are welcomed warmly with a glass of champagne, and from there they are able to simply relax and enjoy the process, now comfortable in the capable hands of Ivory & White’s bridal stylists.
For nearly 10 years, owner Brooke Mason and her staff at Ivory & White have been helping their brides hone in on the dress perfectly suited for them, a challenge that changes with each bride who walks into the store. “Ivory & White is special, because we strive to provide a bridal experience that is just as unique as the individual bride herself,” says Sloane Jones, bridal stylist and the shop’s manager. “Our love of fashion combined with our designers’ expert craftsmanship create an environment rich in our dedication to finding the perfect gown during the most special time in a bride’s life.”
The responsibility to help their clients find the gown they will wear on the happiest day of their life and treasure via photographs for years to come is not one that the Ivory & White girls take lightly. The process begins with an individual bridal appointment, which includes two hours of one-on-one time with an expert bridal stylist and a wedding gown shopping experience that brides-to-be will love! At each bridal appointment, the stylist learns her bride’s preferences — they recommend bringing along some inspiration to draw from, even in the form of a Pinterest board — and from there, they guide her toward the perfect gown. Sometimes the very first dress the bride tries on turns out to be the one, and sometimes the bride ends up with a dress completely different from what she originally envisioned. Whether it’s the fifth or 50th dress, after the bride says “yes,” her stylist helps complete the bridal look with a veil and accessories — and even a bouquet! There’s rarely a dry eye in the dressing room during those special moments.
Ivory & White’s collection of gowns is current and comprehensive, including dresses by Pronovias, Monique Lhuillier, Lela Rose and other top designers, all carefully and thoughtfully hand-selected with the Ivory & White clientele in mind. “We meet with our designers during the bi-annual New York Bridal Fashion Weeks in April and October,” Sloane says. “Although this is an exhilarating process, we are still very mindful about which exact styles to purchase for our brides. Having too many amazing options can be a good problem to have!”
With Ivory & White’s incredible selection of dresses, there’s sure to be a gown suited for every bride, and the stylists treasure the chance to find that needle in the proverbial haystack for their clients. “We truly form a bond with each of our brides and cherish the time we spend getting to know them throughout their engagement,” Sloane says.
Curating the perfect collection is a challenge, but Ivory & White manages a perfect balance of classic bridal gowns and gowns that capture current bridal trends — something for every bride. “The most prominent bridal trend we are seeing now is an off-the-shoulder neckline,” Sloane says. “When executed correctly, it can be the perfect balance of trendy-meets-timeless. Another unexpected trend is neutral undertones, which provide a pop of contrast among intricate details.” The Ivory & White girls just attended New York Bridal Fashion Week and got a peek into upcoming trends, which will be on the racks at the boutique shortly. “Stay tuned!” Sloane says.
When shopping for the dress to wear on what will be one of the best days of your life, Sloane recommends that her brides slow down, have fun and truly enjoy the moment. “Most of the wedding process flies by quickly, so try to soak up every little bit of the gown selection experience by enjoying this time with your loved ones,” she says. “A happy bride is the prettiest bride!”
And an Ivory & White bride is sure to be happy!
