The changing season means it’s time to start thinking about fall and Halloween decorating ideas and updating your interior spaces. Pumpkins are the obvious choice for hitting on both the holiday and the season, and we particularly love white pumpkins, which can be used all the way to Christmas.
When I was growing up, our Halloween décor consisted of a cardboard jointed skeleton hung on the front door and a jack-o’-lantern on the stoop. Fall centerpieces consisted of plastic-looking faux fruit in a bowl. Much to my kids’ dismay, I’ve never been big on all the ghoulish Halloween décor a la Party City, but nowadays with the over-commercialization of every holiday and some really creative designers, I’m finding there are so many sophisticated options that I can really get behind this idea of Halloween decorating.
As for fall decorating, many pumpkin options can work throughout the season, but there are also tons of other beautiful selections to work with. Take stock of what you already have, and think about ways to add to that to create your own unique look. Here are a few ideas to get your wheels turning:
