I’m a bit of a skeptic when it comes to at-home remedies and too-good-to-be-true devices, having been burned many a time with infomercial type gadgets. So when I first heard about the facial toning device, NuFACE, often referred to as a “non-surgical face-lift,” and known on the red carpet as “The 5 Minute Face-Lift,” I must admit I was less than impressed. However, on a recent visit to Village Dermatology, after skincare consultant Beth Welden demonstrated this device on my sales manager, Jordan Carlson, and me, I was truly amazed by its efficacy.
Pictures don’t lie.
The NuFACE Trinity device uses microcurrent technology, one of the hottest innovations in the anti-aging industry. Microcurrent technology, proven to tone facial muscles, has been around for over 50 years and it is thought to increase collagen, elastin, circulation, ATP (Adenosine triphosphate, an enzyme molecule crucial to intracellular energy) and product penetration. And it even extends the life of botox/dysport injections. It only takes about 15 minutes to get immediate, noticeable results.
An aloe-based primer gel (which comes with the device) or other skincare products is a must to avoid feeling a shock-like zapping sensation. With the gel, the treatment feels like a gentle massage as the nobs glide over the face. Beth recommends always using the device in an upward motion. The effect is immediate and cumulative, so daily use for 15 minutes five times a week is recommended. Users can move to the maintenance phase of two to three times a week after 90 days, or once optimal results are achieved. NuFACE effects are immediate, but the result peaks at around 8 hours so Beth suggests using in the morning if you have an event that evening.
Here are some shots of Beth using the device on me.
The NuFACE Trinity device is like a personal trainer for your face and is available for $325 at Village Dermatology. Is $325 a lot to spend on a device? Yes. Is it worth it? Yes! With immediate results like these and a more permanent lifting with continued use, I think this is a no-brainer and will definitely be adding it to my arsenal of anti-aging warfare!
