Summer is here, and after months of sheltering in place, Birminghamians are ready to get out and about. Yet it’s essential to stay safe while you’re having summertime fun. Thankfully, at Pepper Place, you can do just that!
This popular Magic City destination has made some thoughtful changes and adaptations to ensure that guests can still savor a bit of summer fun while staying safe. Expanded outdoor seating and plenty of space to roam so you can properly distance from others are just a few ways that ensure Pepper Place guests can comfortably enjoy a summer outing. Find out more about how you can enjoy this very special Birmingham destination and some seasonal fun.
Enjoy a meal, a drink, or a good book outside at Pepper Place.
If you’re tired of eating takeout in your car, grab some food from your favorite Pepper Place restaurant and enjoy your meal at one of the tables beneath the iconic Dr. Pepper sign. You’ll find more tables on the Showrooms Patio in front of FarmStand, Yellowhammer Print Shop and Design Supply, and all the tables have been strategically spaced to keep you safe.
In front of The Collective, you’ll find tables that allow you to enjoy the Sensabaugh Garden. There are even two swinging chairs that make for the perfect reading spot on a summer day.
Have dinner on the Blueprint on 3rd patio.
Offering seasonal, local cuisine with a New Orleans twist, Blueprint on 3rd is a great place to grab dinner on a summer evening. The Blueprint on 3rd patio allows you to break bread with close family and friends while safely socially distancing from others.
The team at Blueprint on 3rd is also working hard to make dining inside safe, as well. Tables have been spaced at least six feet apart, and bar stools are spread out, too. Servers wear face masks and wash their hands regularly, and all surfaces are frequently sanitized. The Blueprint on 3rd dining room also has a Biozone air purifier that uses UV light to kill viruses and bacteria.
If you’d still rather dine at home, check out the Blueprint on 3rd curbside to-go menu.

Have a cocktail from The Lumbar.
The story behind The Lumbar is as cool as the cocktails on the menu. Nurse turned Ph.D. student Rylie Hightower created The Lumbar to be a bar where people could go when they needed a place to dream. And with its Sidewalk Bar, you can keep dreaming even while socially distancing. Just grab a drink and take a stroll through the Pepper Place Entertainment District. The Lumbar also offers food, wine, beer, liquor, and cocktail kits to go.
