We know there’s still more cold weather to come, but local stores are overflowing with new spring inventory, which makes our desire to buy flare up! And since we love to don our new duds immediately after buying (there’s nothing worse than looking at a fab new outfit waiting patiently in the closet for warmer weather!), here are some current looks that can be worn now through spring. Each gives some bang for the buck by pulling double duty in multiple seasons.
Monkee’s has the right idea to breeze your way into spring: add a pop of color and lighten up on the wash of your jeans. A nude flat or loafer is a great transition footwear piece, as it goes with just about everything and doesn’t have the weighty heft of a boot. Top it off with a great pair of sunnies and some fun jewelry, and you’re good to go!
Neutral hues are also a great way to transcend the seasons. And Theadora Abbeyluxe knows how to up the wow factor with special details like the laser cuts shown on this ecru blouse. Off-white pants — and white pants, for that matter — can be worn year-round, elevating them to wardrobe staple status. With a modest open toe and exposed heel, this wedge sandal offers more coverage than most, giving it a more sturdy appearance that blends from one season to the next.
Stella Blu knows that leopard print is both timeless and season-less. This blouse has an easy silhouette and looks modern and fresh when paired with white denim, which is accented with a black zipper detail. Add a gorgeous metallic clutch/crossbody and the necklace for the final touches on this take-me-out-on-the-town outfit.
A multicolored silk blouse, like this one found at The Clothes Tree, can be worn so many ways … with jeans or a well-fitting pant or even dressy shorts. Here, we added some additional interest with a pair of two-tone ecru pants. A long, agate-accented necklace ties in the purple and the browns, and a trio of metallic bracelets finishes the look.
For the on-the-go gal, Alabama Outdoors has a huge selection of activewear that still has a street chic vibe. The cardigan shown here is made of linen and makes a perfect layering piece for cooler days, as well as a great layer for air-conditioned restaurants, offices or breezy summer nights. The shirt is made of a super-soft stretchy material and has jersey paneling on the side. Moisture wicking, quick drying, UPF 50 and breathable back shoulder vents make this shirt a good choice for hiking the trails or pounding the pavement. The pants are also made for an active lifestyle with sun protection, water-resistance and breathable fabric, yet look street chic, so whether you plan to climb, hike or shop all day, you’re covered.
