A palette of mint green, gold and gray elevate this Jazz Era inspired wedding to glamorous and sophisticated heights. From the bridesmaids’ dresses to the gold satin drapery, everything about this wedding shines! Today’s beautiful wedding is brought to us courtesy of Mariée Ami with photographs by Stephen DeVries.
Neillie Kirk Butler, of Mariée Ami:
We love a bride with a clear vision, and one of our favorite clients, Sarah Riser, was just that. Outgoing and decisive, Sarah knew what she wanted for her special day from the beginning—a 1920’s inspired wedding, a soirée with a palette of mint, gold and gray. Set to marry her Prince Charming from North Carolina, Whit Newton, in the fall of 2013, the entire Mariée Ami team happily went straight to work to plan this stunning wedding. Consistent with her jubilant personality, Sarah wanted everything about her day to shine, from the bridesmaids’ dresses to the decor at the reception. Guests got a first glimpse of the couple’s elegant wedding style with the save the date cards, where a custom-designed medallion made its debut and became a personalized emblem that would be used throughout the wedding and reception.
On November 16, 2013, Sarah and Whit tied the knot at the Cathedral of St. Paul in Birmingham, Alabama.
The bridesmaids wore different dresses in shades of gray with a common theme—sparkle—and carried bouquets of brightly colored fall flowers.
The Birmingham Boys Choir filled the church with joyful hymns while guests were seated. A traditional marriage service followed. Sarah and Whit’s happiness was contagious as they left the church a married couple and headed to their celebration.
The spirited atmosphere of the Jazz Age continued at Mountain Brook Club, where the front of the building was draped in gold satin and adorned with the couple’s custom-designed medallion.
Mariée Ami designed a luxe affair complete with a champagne tower, lounge furniture with sequined pillows as well as gold tables, custom bars and blooms in varied shades ranging from deep eggplant to burgundy.
Thank you, Sarah and Whit, for sharing your special day! And thank you, Mariée Ami, for helping us with today’s post!
