STG Trattoria has only been open a few months, but a steady stream of buzz has kept this restaurant absolutely packed for dinner. Their dinner menu is filled with delicious small plates and they have a great cocktail menu. But, here is a tip: go for lunch! It is not as crowded and they have a great menu with a few different lunch options, like sandwiches and salads, along with their delicious pizza.

STG is owner Brian Lewis’ second Atlanta restaurant. The first is Bocado, a favorite on the Westside.

They have a great wine and cocktail menu (listed in high tech fashion on an ipad). They also have an impressive list of Italian sodas that are mixed in-house. Our table tried the peach, lime, and strawberry and loved them all!

Another tip: they can add as much or as little of the sweetened flavored juice as you want. We went with just a little and it was really refreshing!

I knew right away that I was going to order a pizza (when in Rome!), but I must say I was a little jealous of my tablemates’ salads. They looked so fresh, light and filled with delicious ingredients. Here is the roasted beet salad with house ricotta, fennel, and tarragon. You can add grilled shrimp or chicken for protein.

STG recently changed the size of their pizza from 16” to 12” which definitely was a good idea. While my traditional tomato, basil, and mozzarella was delicious, there was no way I could eat the whole pie. Luckily pizza tastes just as good the next day!

Fresh tomatoes and basil with the perfect amount of mozzarella made this one delicious pizza!

STG Trattoria is a little hard to find. The shopping center is right on West Paces next to The St. Regis. It is tucked back in the corner behind B. Brathwaite and right around the corner from Huff Harrington Home. I guarantee you will be glad you sought this spot out. Go soon! Word is bound to get out what a delicious and easy lunch spot STG is!
