Welcome warm and sunny spring! Hopefully it is officially time to pack away the heavy sweaters and embrace the trends of Spring 2014. All of the past, usual suspects—pastels, black and white, floral and tribal—made their appearance again on the runway. But since you already know about them, and your closet probably has these items represented, we picked 5 wearable trends that we are loving.
The White Button Up
Three cheers for this Spring 2014 trend, because we bet you already have a white button up in your closet. If not, we love the quality and fit of Claridge + King button ups, which you’ll see in our collage photo momentarily. A white button up can be your workhorse and carry you right into summer, when we love to wear it as a bathing suit coverup.
Wide Leg Pants
Wide leg pants are another trend that has us cheering, because these can be super flattering. Just make sure to pair them with a fitted top so you don’t look bulky all over.
We found this lovely lightweight, wide leg, navy pant at Sandpiper. The tan stripe running down the side also touches on the “tuxedo” look, which is also very big this season.
The nautical look is in full force this spring! We have spotted stripes and flag shapes on dresses, shorts and pants. And nautical always looks appropriate with one of spring’s “it” colors, navy. Use navy as a neutral and pair it with everything from white to pastels to black.
Similar to lace, but edgier and less sweet. You will see cut outs on dresses, shirts, pants, skirts and accessories.
We fell hard for this white dress with circle cut outs (not to mention the other splurge-worthy elements in the collage below). Throw a blazer on top when there is a chill in the air. Wear flats during the day, and throw on a pair of heels for dinner out. It is very versatile and perfectly on trend.
Pattern and shapes are hot this spring. From bold colors to subtle detail, you will see it on everything. We loved the soft geometric design on this loose fitting top at Hemline in Vinings. The shape of the top looks great when paired with a slimming pant. And the metallic color makes it easy to wear no matter what occasion.
Here’s hoping we can soon officially pack away the heavy, all-weather boots and break out the sandals!
