After attending ADAC’s biannual Product Launch Day, we got a sneak peek into the latest in luxury home furnishings. The exclusive showcase highlighted everything from unique wallcoverings to custom-made, hand-painted hides. With lots to admire, we selected five of our favorite fixtures that will make any residence stand out. Here’s what we loved:
Puzzle Cabinet at Martin Nash
This furnishing definitely turned heads at Product Launch Day. The hand-polished, high-gloss cabinet from Scala Luxury is covered in lacquered goat skin. And there’s a spladded vintage finish to it so it looks like it came straight out of a 1960s furniture store. Listed at a hefty $30,960, it’s the ultimate investment—and conversation—piece, and it has room for storage behind all three of its doors.
Hand-Painted Hides at Edelman Leather
Transform a vintage sofa (or other accessory) around the house with one of Selvaggia Armani’s one-of-a-kind, hand-painted hides. The Italian artist’s hides come in 12 distinct patterns (tribal, highline, Vegas) and five different colors (asphalt gray, ivy green, cherry, cloud and cachi). Once you select the leather hide—royal hide or vintage leather—of your choice from Edelman, Armani will get to work. Durable and perfect for upholstering (think bedroom headboards, ottomans), the designer uses the visually appealing hides throughout her own home where she resides with two children and a dog. Bonus? The work of art comes complete with Armani’s signature and a certificate of authenticity.
Substance Wallcovering at Innovations
We were wowed by this rustic wallcovering that would work perfectly in a home library or near a stone fireplace hearth. Similar to a gracefully aged tree bark, Substance can give any interior a touch of warmth. The beautiful and sturdy wallcovering comes in 10 earth tones, such as Blue Monday and Temptation (a blend of light and dark browns). Substance is the ideal mix of simplicity and sovereignty.
Quadratl Corner Module at JANUS et Cie
Add this piece to your patio, and you’ll be the envy of all your friends. Designed by Orlando Diaz-Azcuy as part of The Masters Aluminum Series, the Quadratl Corner Module in moire neutral is inspired by estate garden traditions as the new generation of heirloom quality furniture. Great for the outdoors with its powder-coated aluminum frame, you can join two corner modules together to create a side-by-side club love seat. It’s super chic. “Interior designers and their clients want timeless elements designed to be enjoyed for generations to come,” says Janice Feldman, president of JANUS et Cie. “Our Quadratl Modular collection is a glamorous ensemble of masterpieces reflecting relaxed, luxurious refinement.”
Roller Shades at The Shade Store
For a window treatment that looks uber-sophisticated and offers functionality for everyday use, roller shades work wonders. And although there are a variety of materials to choose from, we had our eyes on Chelsea. These custom-size shades, which come in six colorways (sand, dune, stone, smoke, midnight and charcoal), do a nice job of letting the sun in without darkening a room too much. “One of the best features of roller shades is that when you pull them up, they basically disappear. This allows for your view to be maintained,” says Ian Gibbs, co-founder and creative director of The Shade Store. “Plus, they are easy to operate and take up little space.” It’s no surprise why roller shades are a favorite among haute home owners.
