Halloween is THE holiday that truly unites adults and kids. Taking in your neighbor’s impressive homage to “The Walking Dead” or smiling at the corner house’s interpretation of Sweet Halloween (as opposed to Scary Halloween) is the same for any age. And on that note, we’ve scoured Atlanta neighborhoods for some awesome Halloween houses. Take a look at some of our favorites and may your trick-or-treat bags/pillowcases/wagons be overflowing with chocolate!
We hit up some of the notoriously spooky—and magnificent—Atlanta neighborhoods that go crazy for Halloween. We stopped by Virginia-Highlands and Lake Claire in town, Briers North and Huntley Hills in the Chamblee/Dunwoody suburbs and got some great shots of homes in Decatur, Lake Claire and Oakhurst, as well.
Since we’re big, old scaredy cats, we’ve organized these homes in order of fright factor. Houses that make us smile and warm our hearts are at the top; houses that spark our creativity and make us say “so cool” as we stroll by are in the middle; and houses that make us run past the front lawn are at the bottom, giving you time to scroll back up to the Sweet Halloween homes.
Cute and Cuddly Homes
Cool and Creative Homes
Scared to Death Homes

Atlanta, have a great time on Halloween! Make sure to bring a large trick-or-treat bag, a flashlight and running shoes so you can take off if you pass one of these super scary houses.
