Give a Penny. You know how there are some people that are just blessed with an eye for color and beauty. Creativity just flows through them and they create wonderful and beautiful pieces of art.
This is exactly how I feel about Mary Kelly Stribling Clary. After growing up in Atlanta — attending The Lovett School and then College of Charleston — Mary Kelly set out to create her own jewelry line. Combining her love of vintage beads, visual arts, and beauty in everyday objects she makes each piece by hand.
Mary Kelly also sees the beauty and the power of “giving a penny.” Part of her trunk show proceeds go to the Leukemia and Lymphoma Society in honor of her best friend and her father-in-law.
Mary Kelly uses a variety of vintage beads, metal, and stones to create her earrings, necklaces, bracelets, and rings. And each Give a Penny piece is named for a different female in Mary Kelly’s life.
All of her pieces truly are a work of art. I am lucky to have a few pieces and I have hinted to my husband that he doesn’t need to wait for “the appropriate time” or holiday to add to my collection!
Give a Penny can be found in stores across the south and online.
