Have you ever wondered what the hot colors of the upcoming season will be? Or wondered why fashion designers all repeat the same colors during the season. Or why you also see the same hues in interior design? One of the reasons is Pantone. Pantone, a company recognized around the world as the leading authority of color, was founded in 1963 in order to create a system of identifying and matching with complete accuracy the colors used in graphic design. This helps prevent one person’s peacock blue in Georgia from looking totally different than another’s peacock blue in California. Pantone has spread into all creative fields, including fashion. Twice a year (fall and spring), Pantone releases their hot colors for the season.
We thought it would be fun to scour the web and find clothes that matched Panton’s fall 2012 colors. And, it actually was really easy! This only reinforces the idea that design and fashion really are intertwined! (Click on each picture to go directly to the source.)
