Wedding Wednesdays are back for July! Today, SB friend and event planner and designer extraordinaire Amos Gott shares a beautiful wedding story that will make you sigh and believe in magic again.

Weddings are often thought of as fairy tales, and the day we created for Jessica Lingo and Drew Hill in Nashville was exactly that. No Fairy Godmother could’ve made the bride more gorgeous, no castle could’ve been more regal than Scarritt-Bennett, no royal affair more ethereal than the wedding reception at Richland Country Club, and no happily-ever-after could have had better weather than the wedding day.
Jessica Lingo and Drew Hill inadvertently met online in a law school forum just prior to starting law school at Northwestern University in Chicago. After dating through law school, they both found jobs and upon graduating moved to Nashville to continue their relationship.
Drew took Jessica to a lovely dinner and then to the Symphony. While in the Symphony’s Founder’s Hall for some pre-concert drinks, he arranged a photographer to take pictures. On the second photo he got down on one knee and proposed. As you can see, she never saw it coming! Of course, Jessica said yes! The two of them could hardly pay attention to the concert–despite the fact they were given the best seats in the house–they were so happy to be engaged!
Today, many couples are choosing to take photos before the ceremony. While this is untraditional to some, it is a truly intimate moment and a beautiful way to start the big day and life together. Regardless, there is still no other moment equal in excitement or anticipation for the bride and groom than when the doors open and the bride walks down the aisle. Below, Jessica and Drew enjoy a private moment to see each other for the first time on their wedding day.
Following cocktails and passed hors d’oeuvres of Gazpacho Shots in Port Glasses, Mini Crab Cakes on silver dollar crackers, Cheese Grit Cakes with Portabella Mushrooms and Baby Red Potatoes, with Asiago Cheese and Garlic, guests sat down to a three course meal.
Thank you, Amos! And thank you, Jess and Drew for sharing your special day with our readers!
