Look cool and stay cool this July with some of our favorite FINDS we discovered throughout Atlanta. You don’t have to sweat in traffic, driving from store to store to find some awesome products because we’ve already done the leg work for you!
FASHION & ACCESSORIES
Looking good and saving money are two phrases that you don’t see in the same sentence very often. But Karoo has the ability to offer cool, one-of-a-kind frames at a great price — every pair (frame and lenses) is $149. We happen to love this Badger (every pair is named after a different African animal) in the crystal/demi pattern.
Plaid is an unofficial pattern of the South and the more colorful, the better. We love the “Casey” shirt dress, $295, from H. Stockton Atlanta because it’s fun, screams summer and has a cute, periwinkle tie that pulls the whole look together.
Be fabulous, be different, be bold … or be italic! That’s the message on this rad zipper pouch, $6.99, from Binders Art Supplies and Frames. Fill it with your art supplies, makeup, travel items, snacks or any other knickknack needing a cool home. Note: Binders has a ton of other cute patterns if you don’t love bold and prefer
Bathing suit for ALL
While in Northside Women’s Center for a personal reason, I decided to stop in A Woman’s Place — the hospital wing’s gift shop. This Anita bathing suit, $110, is one that will make any woman of any health status feel confident. It’s a mastectomy swimsuit that offers a high neckline to hide any scarring and has breast pockets on each side so the wearer can add prostheses, if needed.
This India Hicks navy canvas tote bag, $138, is not only durable but also super fashionable and makes a great addition to any outfit. We’re in love with these insect patterns and for a really cool addition, get the matching Flamingo Orange makeup bag for $35. To order one of these modern bags, visit India Hicks.
HAIR & BODY
If you don’t have time to get a healing massage or facial at Fabu Face Spa, at least stop by this Decatur body shop and pick up a tube of Farmhouse Fresh’s shea butter hand cream. Each variety, $14, has a great scent with an even better name, like Marshmallow Melt, Hello Yellow, Rainbow Road, Front Porch Punch, Whoopie Cream and more.
Summer can do quite a number on your hair — drying, breaking and overall weakening from the summer sun and wearing it up so often. Give your hair a refresh and stop by Balance Salon to pick up L’anza Keratin Healing Oil, $30, or Healing Oil Combing Cream, $40. These powerful products help restore shine and elasticity as well as replenish lost moisture.
Balm heals, gloss shines and plumper, well, plumps. Put them all together and you have a 3-in-1 product that will give those lips a new lease on life! Lip Batter, available at The Cosmetic Market, costs $16.50 and comes in five shades.
Drink like a fish with this shark-themed silver tumbler, $19.99, from Georgia Aquarium. Not only will this cup hold a pint of liquid to keep you cool this summer, it also has a handy, dandy built-in bottle opener. But if you hear that infamous “Jaws” music playing while you drink, GET OUT OF THE WATER!
Summer is full of barbecues and BYOB pool parties, but take your outdoor entertainment on the glamorous side with this lovely Le Cadeaux cheese board and matching Laguiole cheese knife, $30, from steve mckenzie’s. The cheese board comes in a variety of patterns (pictured here in Havana) and will be a great addition to your next spread.
Summer is all about hydration, so keep your body full of water by carrying around this 25 oz. canteen, $32.99, from Mountain High Outfitters. Corkcicle has a variety of sizes, but we think the canteen offers a manageable container without feeling like you’re schlepping a water cooler around with you.
For much of July, your four-legged friend may be relegated to the indoors because of July’s blistering heat. Keep him entertained with some great toys from Dog City II in Sandy Springs. These Fluff & Tuff pet toys — said to withstand even the roughest of pups — come in a variety of shapes, including flamingo and fish, $19.99 each.
FOOD & DRINKS
As any faithful StyleBlueprint reader knows, we love the delicious treats from Alon’s Bakery. And now, it’s time to share that goodness with the world as the restaurant and bakery sells delicious chocolate bars to take with you on the go! The standard milk chocolate variety, $6.49, is delicious, but we challenge you to go a bit exotic and try either the dried cherry or the salted Marcona almonds, each $6.99.
Popcorn makes a great present — for yourself or as a hostess, holiday or get-well gift. When gifting this all-American treat, make sure you get delicious flavors on a gourmet scale by hitting up CaJa Popcorn in Buckhead (also available online). Their signature flavors include sea salt caramel, pimento cheese, spicy BBQ, kettle corn and classic butter. Prices are as follows: small bag, $4.99; medium bag, $7.99; large bag, $10.99; 1-gallon tin, $23.95; 2-gallon tin, $43.95; and 3.5-gallon tin, $69.95.
Celebrate summer with a big gift to yourself from one of these great Atlanta boutiques and make sure you tell them StyleBlueprint sent you!
