Wearing White After Labor Day

Pippa Middleton

Just like Pippa, we say, “Wear your whites!”  It may be after Labor Day, but it’s all about the fabric choice and how you pair your whites for fall and winter.  We know, we know.  Some of you might never be comfortable wearing white from September to March.  It’s okay.  Personal style is all about personal choices and what makes you feel YOUR best.

However, to assure you that we are not crazy, here are some sights from the Fall 2011 Paris shows – both on and off the runway. These are followed by three outfits we think would be great in the coming months.

White tuxedo jackets are very much on trend.

Creamy knits for fall

We’d like a more fitted shirt, but um, we’ll take this any way it comes.

White pants, fur coat.

Classic white, stripes and a grey flannel coat

So, how can you take these looks and make them relevant for everyday?  Here are three collections of ideas to provide some inspiration.  The point is not to go out and buy all these white things for fall, but to figure out how to bring some great items already in your closet into the new season with different pairings and new purchases alike.
