Years ago I was involved in managing radio stations. As a perk, I was given free passes to the Southern Women’s Show. I was COMPLETELY naive as to what to expect and, truthfully, even as to why I was there. The big draw and I’m not kidding you when I say the BIG DRAW was food. The free food lines snaked around the place for what seemed like miles. It was UGLY. Instead of celebrating what was the best of women, it brought out the worst in women. There was elbow shoving, jockeying for position and WORDS thrown about. And, for what? A sample of some horrid concoction in a dixie cup.
But, as I got the you-know-what out of that area, I saw the most delightful, gorgeous display of white cotton pajamas under a banner that said Simple Pleasures. They weren’t your typical pajamas; they were so lovely and feminine. The pajama’s were all white cotton shown in a multitude of styles. All had various weaves: from a subtle shadow strip to a more contemporary waffle weave. What struck me the most was how playful they were with cropped pants and longer tunics- all finished in a lettuce edge trim. White cotton roses adorned the robes and subtle lace and ribbons trimmed the bodices of the gowns. They are about $100 a set and made and do last forever. I would encourage you to visit their website www.simplepleasurescotton.com. With all due respect, I don’t think their website does justice to the actual product. While they do not have a retailer in Nashville, the corporate headquarters is in Murfreesboro! So, order a pair by calling the number on the website or trek on out to Murfreesboro where they are based and home to the Shoppe of Simple Pleasures. With spring on the way, treat yourself to a pair.
