We made it to March—hooray! Though we have some cold weather this week to contend with, we’ve been doing our homework to get ready for the warm weather and change in seasons that’s right around the corner.
A Great Summer Dress
Gus Mayer is the place to go for gala dresses, but it’s also a fabulous place to find reasonably-priced dresses, chosen with the same critical eye as Gus Mayer’s designer pieces. A perfect example is this flattering and well-tailored Julia Jordan summer dress that is only $198 and is sure to be worn countless times. styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/gus-mayer
The Gulch is simply exploding with energy, food and fun. If you don’t live in or near the Gulch, make dinner plans and then arrive a couple hours early to have time to shop the fabulous retail stores, including e. Allen, to find wardrobe essentials like this taupe dress/tunic by Bella Dahl for $138. styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/e-allen
Colorful Exercise Bras
Warm air really is on the way, even though the lion of March is far more present this week than we would like! It’s time to take stock of your workout clothes and replace any worn out pieces, which for us happens to be our workout bras. These Splits 59 “Loren” ones at Pure Barre got our attention for $39. styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/pure-barre
Fun Skirts for Spring
Have a skirt custom-made just for you through Sevier Skirts, a Nashville-based company. With a whole slew of new fabrics to choose from, you’ll be happy to add another Sevier Skirt to your closet, or to purchase your first one. Email Suzanne Sevier for details on purchasing your skirt at their warehouse or purchase through a “skirt party.” For many more photos and details, see: styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/sevier-skirts.
Low Key Nautical Stripes
Spring is the season to have a scarf at hand, as warm weather turns to cold in an instant. This striped scarf has many uses: tie it around a handbag and throw it around your neck with a cold breeze, or tie it over your swimsuit on spring break. At Vignette for $54. styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/vignette
Spring Scarf and Leather Bag
See, it really is the season for scarves, and here is another, more colorful one. It adds the perfect pop of color to this amazing neutral leather bag, which is big enough to hold your laptop and much more. Stop by Stacey Rhodes for these wardrobe workhorses. Scarf is $86. Leather handbag is $450. styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/stacey-rhodes-boutique

A Different Twist for Opening Wine
An easy, artful, functional way to open wine that’s easy to stick in your drawer, unlike some of those HUGE wine openers! Throw in your bag for a picnic, or keep on your bar, as it’s decorative. Or throw in your kitchen gadget drawer. We promise that when you open a bottle of wine in front of friends with this opener, they will notice and ask you about it! $42.50 at Spruce. styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/spruce
Brightly Feathered Friends

Turkish T for the Beach
Heading to the beach for Spring Break? You still have time to pick up these Beach Candy Striped Turkish Ts —and AshBlue can monogram them, as well! Use as a towel, a coverup or a tablecloth. These thin towels are hugely absorbent. $45 each. styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/ashblue
Fresh Scent for the Home
This is our current candle obsession. It smells so good, we can’t stop burning this one! Found at Kore +Nashville in Edgehill Village. $18. styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/kore-nashville
A Great Concealer
We are constantly looking for great concealers, and with spring allergies headed our way, there are plenty of purple circles that will be under our eyes. We asked the experts at Woo Skincare + Cosmetics for one that was light, didn’t stick into creases and also worked with skin that was flaky, as dry skin is a problem. The recommended Giorgio Armani High Precision Retouch is light, easy to work with and covers well. Just in time! If you have really bad circles, this may not be heavy enough, but for lighter circles and for people who hate it when concealer settles into fine lines and gets cakey, this is a great bet. $39. styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/woo-skincare
Quick Fix for Lips
By Terry’s Rose Contour lip pencil is one of our favorites right now. Thank you, Carmen Mabry at Private Edition, for turning us on to such an oh-so-perfect product. With this pencil and a little dab of By Terry’s Baume de Rose for conditioning sheen, we feel polished, yet natural. $33 styleblueprint.com/nashville/guide/private-edition
Meatballs? Yes, Meatballs!
These are delicious and can be the cornerstone to your meal, or a topping. They are great for packed lunches and are gluten free, nitrate free and have no added hormones. We’ve tried all flavors and the only one we’re not huge fans of are the Chicken Garlic. But, all others are fabulous and equally loved by both kids and adults. Caramelized Onion and Spicy Mango & Jalapeno are our favorites! $7.99. We have found ours at Harris Teeter.
Momma Niks’ Cheesecake
Nashville has some great cheesecake and we just discovered another one! Momma Nik’s Cheesecake is delicious and now that our taste testing is done, we are yearning for more and making our order! Available in cake size, individual servings and also a really fun way: made in a Mason jar! These make great gifts, fun desserts for parties and you can taste the homemade goodness. Our favorite is the Whiskey Caramel, but the Raspberry White Chocolate and Original are fabulous. Mason jar servings start at $8. Individual servings without the jar start at $4. Place your order online to be hand-delivered to you or you can pick up at the Hams-N-Jams market at Loveless Cafe. Delicious! mommanikscheesecake.com
