So no drum roll needed, and in no particular order … here’s the list:
South of Beale (SOB)
Address: 361 S. Main St.
More info: southofbeale.com
Happy hours (see what we did there?): Monday through Friday, 3 to 6 p.m.
Deals: $3 drafts, $4 wells, $5 wine and cocktail list, $6 bites
Why we love it: Great atmosphere, friendly people and fab views of South Main Street and the (still faux) Downtown trolley through the giant picture windows. It’s also great for Tigers and Grizz pregaming.
Address: 2156 Young Ave.
More info: greencorkwine.com
Happy hours: Tuesday, 5 to 10 p.m.
Deals: Test Kitchen Tuesdays; buy wine, beer or cocktails and get the test kitchen item free
Why we love it: This gets our vote for Memphis’ most unique happy hour. Only on Tuesday, sample a free test kitchen item along with your drink purchase. It’s “bigger than an amuse-bouche, smaller than an app.” Greencork’s kitchen puts out some delicious concoctions, so you’ll want to check this out. Plus, could the family behind this family-owned business be any friendlier?

Happy hours: Monday through Thursday, 11 a.m. to 7 p.m.; Sunday 4 to 7 p.m.
Deals: $2 off draft beer, $1 off bottled beer and well liquor, $5 flavored martinis and specialty cocktails, half-price red and white wine
Why we love it: It’s a fun, casual hangout with yummy Italian and Greek cuisine, combined with great drink discounts in the bar. And its happy hour extends to Sunday Funday, so really, ’nuff said.

Deals: 50-cent wings, 50-cent tacos, 2-for-1 drink and beer specials
Why we love it: Fifty-cent wings and tacos, plus 2-for-1 drinks? It’s a no-brainer. Also, the people watching is great at this Broad Avenue nightspot, partly because its piece de resistance is (OK, now you can cue the drum roll … ) a mechanical bull. But the real reason we love it? The downstairs bar has swings as barstools! Swings, people.
The Grove Grill

More info: thegrovegrill.com
Happy hours: Monday through Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.

Happy hours: Monday through Friday, 4 to 7 p.m.

Why we love it: The drinks are pretty and they have great names (Zippin Pippin, Tequila Mockingbird). Plus, the Alchemy House Punch (included in happy hour) is “a surprise concoction mixed daily.” Does that remind anyone else of the mystery cooler on the fraternity house front porch? Trust us, this is much tastier.

Happy hours: Tuesday to Thursday, 4:30 to 6:30 p.m.
Deals: $5 select wine (white, red, rosé), small plate menu, $5 to $8

More info: elfosrestaurant.com
