Articles written before 2015 that were among our best read this year:
Basically, our “How To” articles continue to run strong year after year. Here were our top ones in 2015 that were actually written in 2014 or earlier:
How to Feed a Crowd: Taco Bar
This article was a favorite when it published a couple of years ago, but it really took off this year through the power of Pinterest and a variety of blogs linking to it, which aptly answers a question many of us have: how do you feed a large crowd with ease?
How to Make a Derby Hat
We are the first to admit that most of our DIY articles are not our most read. But when we are passionate about a DIY project, we write about it anyway! And this article on making your own Kentucky Derby hat shows you how to make a grand entrance at the Derby in Louisville, the Steeplechase in Nashville, TN, or any fancy hat party … with your own creation atop your head!
How to Wear a Tunic, No Matter Your Body Shape
Again, a how-to article comes in strong! This article shows examples of a variety of tunic types for different body types and it obviously struck a chord. Although this was written in 2013, the advice in this article is always timely.
How To Dress for an Amusement Park
This article was another one that was written several years ago, but hit it big this year. After taking my youngest for a mommy and me trip to Universal a few years ago, I realized there was a problem: how people dress at amusement parks! It’s not about being oh-so-stylish; it’s about being practical and making sure you have the right items for a day filled with sun, tons of walking, large crowds, water rides, long lines and more. And cheeks peeking out of shorts is just not acceptable! Amusement park days are super fun, yes, but they can also be long and frustrating. Making sure to wear the right gear is critical!
