He’s a pug. Named Doug. And we are obsessed with him. With about 2 million Facebook fans and 500,000 Instagram followers (handle: @itsdougthepug), it’s safe to say that Doug is Middle Tennessee’s most famous pug. He’s been featured in the Huffington Post, TIME, Cosmopolitan, on E! News, Mashable, MTV News and many more. He’s also met celebrities like John Legend, Hayley Williams, Chrissy Teigen, Meghan Trainor, Tori Kelly, Halsey and Adam Levine. The Internet sensation has won over the hearts of many people around the globe with his human-like qualities, and he is considered to be the ultimate spirit animal to many. In fact, he has his own clothing line featuring a shirt that says “Doug the Pug is my spirit animal.” Like many of us, this Music City native loves to spend his days watching Netflix, napping, eating pizza and getting massages. Perhaps that is what makes Doug’s Instagram posts so very relatable … “I’m not antisocial, I’m anti getting out of bed,” “No matter how hard I try, I can’t stop being hungry” and “I never step on the scale, because the scale doesn’t measure sexy.”
His videos are hysterical, so check them out on his Instagram page. He got mega press last Christmas for the video “All I Want for Christmas is Food,” a Douged-up version of Mariah Carey’s “All I Want For Christmas Is You.” And the photos where Doug is posed to recreate Kim Kardashian selfies? You may snort. Seriously.
One of my biggest perks interning for StyleBlueprint was landing an interview with Doug the Pug, and upon meeting him, I could instantly see why everyone loves him so much! This little ball of energy was ready to be pampered with treats and cuddles. While visiting him, we got the scoop on what life is really like for Doug the Pug. Below, our exclusive Q&A with Doug. Enjoy!
What has been the biggest perk of your celebrity status? What’s the worst part?
The biggest perk is all of the ladies that pick me up and kiss me every day. The worst part is that people think it’s funny to take photos of me going to the bathroom “to send to TMZ.”
Describe a perfect day in your life.
Sleeping in, watching Netflix, getting hand fed bacon for breakfast, being pushed around in a stroller to the park and then Netflix with Bae.
Dream food, if sensitive dog tummy wasn’t an issue?
Pizza. A pool full of pizza.
What celebrity are you dying to meet?
I need to meet T-Swift. Need.
(READERS: Surely one of you can hook this dog up with Taylor, right?!)

Everyone is so friendly, and the food is so good! Plus, there are always concerts to go to.
How many cities have you been to? And what’s your favorite way to travel?
I’ve been to New York City, Virginia Beach and Cincinnati. I still need to go to California! I love traveling on a plane because the flight attendants love me.
If you could go anywhere and money wasn’t an object, where would you go?
Australia! I have so many Australian fans and want to meet them!
Do you have a girlfriend?
Yes. Bae is everything.

“California Gurls” by Katy Perry
A lot of Nashville restaurants welcome dog friends. What’s your favorite restaurant to go to?
I love sitting outside of Frothy Monkey and the Wild Cow in East Nashville!
What’s your favorite thing about your human? Does she ever get mad at you?
My human loves to snuggle and take me on adventures. Sometimes she gets mad when I hog the bed.
Do you want a brother or sister?
How are you handling all this heat?
It’s easy. Go in the pool or don’t go outside. Netflix was created for a reason!
What’s your guilty pleasure?
Wearing my blue Katy Perry wig.
What’s one fact about you that would surprise your fans?
I’m not as big as I look in pictures. My rolls aren’t very flattering on camera.
