It’s finally starting to feel like spring around the South, and we couldn’t be more thrilled! We’ve scouted out some fantastic Southern FINDS from all over the region to share the joy that the warmer weather brings. Here’s what we’re loving for April:
FASHION & ACCESSORIES
As much as we love these hats, we love the mission of the company even more. Y’allsome products are made by small Southern businesses, and 15 percent of the profits go to helping Southern foster kids find permanent homes. Y’allsome hats are embroidered in Georgia at a family-owned and -operated shop. Find the hats and other products online or, if you’re in Nashville, at White’s Mercantile for $32 to $38.

What could be better than a small-batch candle with a Southern scent? One that comes with a reusable copper tin! These 12-ounce copper tea tins are reminiscent of vintage tins filled with unique spices or teas. Once the candle has been enjoyed, the tins make a nice storage box for small items. There are many unique scents available, but ambrosia (a blend of orange, coconut and grapefruit) is our favorite! Available in Birmingham at Defining Home for $29 or online at foundgoodsmarket.com
FOOD & DRINK
J Vineyards Brut Rosé
Full disclosure – we’re sitting in Healdsburg, CA, as we type this entry, after the most amazing day of wine and food pairings ever. One of our stops was J Vineyards & Winery, where we were greeted with a glass of its Brut Rosé – and we’re hooked. Available at Buster’s in Memphis, RED Spirits & Wine in Nashville and other fine wine stores (find one near you here), for $39.99
Whether you’re celebrating the Kentucky Derby in Louisville or simply sipping your favorite Southern cocktail on your own veranda, regular ol’ sugar will not do. Mint Julep sugar, which is sugar with added mint flavor, is a great complement for your favorite cocktail, or use it as a topping for fruit or dessert. This specialty is available at Bourbon Barrel Foods in Louisville or at any of the retail locations listed here. The trial size is $2.50, a 10-ounce bag is $11 and a 24-ounce bag is $20.
HEALTH & BEAUTY
We love these adorable, flower-shaped body sponges by Spongellé offered in five different scents including coconut verbena, French lavender, ginger bergamot, Bulgarian rose and papaya yuza. Clean, exfoliate and hydrate with a hypoallergenic formula that promises a minimum of 14 washes. Great for gift giving, too, as they come in a cute box with a ribbon. Find them at Gus Mayer in either Nashville or Birmingham for $16.
These all-natural, Kentucky-made soaps by Earthy Browns Natural Products are great for your man, are gentle on his face and smell great, as well. Find them for $6 each at Why Louisville or at the Earthy Browns website.
