January 7, 2017: Chef-Driven Dining in Uptown Food Tour
Dive into the best of Uptown Charlotte’s food scene on this three-hour Feast Food Tour. January 7, 2017: Rumble in the Concrete Jungle
Every year the U.S. National Whitewater Center drains its rivers for Rumble in the Concrete Jungle — a one-of-a-kind cycling competition that’s full of thrills. See bikes of all kinds take over the river’s banks and execute incredible stunts and big jumps. The event is free for spectators. For more information visit usnwc.org.
January 10-15, 2017: An American in Paris at the Belk Theater
The Tony Award-Winning musical An American in Paris takes over the Belk Theater for five days, bringing the magical love story of an American soldier and a French girl to the stage. January 14, 2017: Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade
Enjoy the marching bands, fire trucks and all the excitement of Charlotte’s Martin Luther King Jr. Holiday Parade. Festivities kick off at 10 a.m. on Tryon Street in Uptown Charlotte. For more information, click here.
January 19, 2017: Sushi Making Class at the Carolina Fish Market
Learn a new skill this year at the Carolina Fish Market’s sushi making class. For two hours you’ll learn the art of making a sushi roll and even take home your own sushi making kit. January 19-21, 2017: Anjelah Johnson at The Comedy Zone

January 20, 2017: Bechtler by Night — Bring in the New Year
Explore all four floors of the Bechtler Museum of Modern Art after hours. From 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., guests can enjoy art, light bites, cocktails and this month’s featured drink is a White Russian. January 20, 2017: Science on the Rocks
Break out your best Harry Potter garb for Discovery Place’s Science on the Rocks: Wizarding World — an adults only night at the museum dedicated to the world’s favorite wizards. Activities include Quidditch beer pong, a make-your-own wand station and plenty of bubbly potions.
