As a reward for my children eating the dinners I prepared all week without any grumbling, I stopped by the new donut place, called The Heavenly Donut Co. (Please don’t judge me, but, yes, I’m that parent who resorts to bribery!) This is not your typical donut shop. Inside, the decor is inviting with sofas and tables set up throughout, and when I visited, I noticed a sign advertising free wi-fi. “Take a seat and stay a while” seems to be the message. It’s a little off the beaten path, located on Cahaba River Road in between the back entrance to the Colonnade and the Target shopping center on Highway 280, but it is totally worth a visit to indulge in such delicacies as the maple bacon donut or the chocolate peanut butter-filled confection. Heavenly Donut Co. offers yeast and cake donuts, with many unique variations you won’t find anywhere else.
Their yeast and cake donuts are handmade and baked fresh daily. They are also happy to make custom decorated creations, perfect for graduations, birthdays and end of the season celebrations.
How cute are these sports-themed donuts! It’s like getting a donut and a cupcake all rolled into one sweet treat. I’m so bringing these the next time I am in charge of team snacks!
I know it’s not football season yet, but these treats are too cute to only be eaten on game days.
I paid $10.59 for a dozen mixed donuts. Not bad, not bad at all.
Here’s to getting them to eat more veggies!
